Water Fun activities for kids in MA and New Hampshire!

As a mom of two kids ages 8 & 11, we love enjoying water in the summer to keep cool. My kids could spend all day in a pool or at the ocean.   With the scorching summer temps kicking in this week, here are 5 great sites for water activities for kids of all ages.

You can always hit the beach, lake, pool, splash pad or water slides to cool off too.   Looking for somewhere to go and enjoy water?!    Some of our favorite places to spend time in the water in NH & MA are:

  • Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, MA   – our favorite family beach, we get there nice and early when the parking lot opens and spend all day enjoying the beach.   The sand is soft, the kids love finding shells and there are no waves to knock the little ones down.   Leave your boogie boards at home as they are not allowed at this beach.
  • Liquid Planet Water Park in Candia, NH  – Water slides, a spring fed swimming area, a huge spray ground area… this place is a blast!
  • The SplashPad at Don Ball Park in Derry, NH – Don Ball Park is a great place to spend a day with the kids for free!   We pack up a cooler with lunch, snacks and drinks.   Bring along sunscreen and bathing suits and the kids are ready to play!    The playground is huge with lots to do and they get to cool off running through the splash pad.
  • Wallis Sands State Park in Rye, NH  – another favorite beach for our family.   We pack up early and plan to spend the day, boogie boards come along for this trip!
  • SplashPad at Shedd Park in Lowell, MA – Another great splash pad to cool off at, close to home.    The kids play at the playground, then enjoy lunch on the picnic tables in the shade before cooling off in the water.
  • Davis Farmland in Sterling, MA – Lots of animals to visit and a huge splash pad to cool off in after!

We have a couple of places we are planning to try this summer too.

Enjoy the summer fun and don’t forget to wear sunscreen!
