Artesian Wells Artesian wells are a great and natural source of water. Artesian wells are also commonly known as rock or drilled wells. They are two main sources of water available today wells and the public water supply. When you own a well you are in control. Well owners do not have to.... pay high water rates in the summer when you want to water your lawn. bear the burden of the fast rising town water rates. wait for the one time of year that the town publishes the information on what is in your water. deal with the burden of ruined laundry and stained toilets from broken water mains. What Exactly Is a Artesian Well ? A artesian well consists of a hole bored into the ground by a drill rig. The top section of the well is lined with casing. The casing prevents the collapse of the walls of the well and (with a drive shoe or grout seal) prevents surface or subsurface contaminants from entering the water supply. The casing must also have a drive shoe attached to the bottom to prevent damage during driving and to make a good seal with the formation. In some applications, a grout seal of cement or bentonite may also be recommended to prevent contamination. Below the casing, the lower portion of the well is the intake through which water enters. During the drilling process it is necessary to use compressed air to determine the yield before completion. After proper disinfection, the well is capped to provide sanitary protection until it is hooked into the customer’s system. Your well is completed please refer to the pumping system pages for further explinations on the completion of your particular project. ****please note that the drilling procedures are the same for residential or irrigation wells**** Click for More info on Standard Artesian Well Pumping Systems Click for More info on Constant Pressure Pumping Systems |
