Typical Well
In a typical well situation it is usually just a case of tweaking the current system however; there is the possibility needing a pump upgrade depending on the situation. One of Northeast Water Wells qualified techs typically comes out and do a flow test to decipher the GPM and to take readings on the current system. The specialist will then go through the stats with the irrigation specialist and together they decide the best way to maximize the systems potential.
The following is a brief example of how the stats are used:
The flow test gives the Northeast Water Wells specialist the number of GPM produced by the pump itself; lets say that this number is 9.5GPM or gallons per minute. In this situation typically we could set up your system to use eight to nine GPM, and still have sufficient pressure and flow. However if we were to try to push the system further say to 12 GPM, the system would not be able to function properly, because the demand has exceeded the supply. The pressure in the system would to drop to an unusable level and that would get you no where. Trying to exceed the systems potential would be the same as opening every faucet, shower, hose, etc. in your house at the same time, you would get water at all the locations, but you would have low pressure.
